I haven't watched a lot of Pokemon yet. That is because I am new to Pokemon. I have been watching Pokemon on Cartoon Network (Hey, I don't have TV Japan in my cable!). I have been playing Pokemon fanmade games two months before I watched it. I did hear of Pokemon before and watched part of it but I didn't have any interest in it. When I got to know it more few years later, I got more interested and finally got to record it. So far, Pokemon has been me and my brother's favorite anime. Pokemon XY is a season 18 of the Pokemon Anime.

Back when I was a newbie admiral, I was trying to play Kancolle the most efficient way I can and there was a certain quest that you need to finish before unlocking the final fleet that you can spam expeditions for. Of course mentioning it here seems... unnecessary but I think it was a very important moment for me. Approximately half a year ago, I mentioned that if you, Kongou (the last Kongou sister I did not have) appeared in front of me, I will promise to level you up to 99. By the time I made this promise, you magically appeared for me. Thanks to you, I was able to complete that unlock fleet quest and have my final set of expedition teams gathering the resources and buckets for me to clear an event. It's all thanks to you that I still play Kancolle because without you, I think everything is going to turn out to be different. I am sorry that I couldn't level you to level 99 first, but I didn't promise you that. I only promised you to level you up to 99 with no time constraints. But don't let that go to you. Because I want to thank you again for everything you did for me. You were able to perform well in the excruciating painful summer event whom I need to use you for routing. I think it was thanks to you that I was able to get Mizuho too. Furthermore, you were in the fleet that brought me Graf to my fleet. I think I have thanked you more than the times I have for that, haha. So without further ado, let's mark today that you have become level 99 and that I officially made my promise to you.

I was a bit disappointed in that you didn't get your MvP, you even had that double attack! Okay I was joking! I can't marry you though. I have my eyes already set on Graf.

Literary References in Anime Part One: Psycho-Pass Reference to Swann's Way by Proust There are, sometimes, instantaneous moments of palpable inspiration in anime, ones that stir butterflies of excited recognition or heart-squeezing depth. These may differ from person to person. But for a literature/folklore/mythology nerd like myself, such moments are often sparked by literary references. So, please excuse this gushing blog post about one example of literary references in anime. And please excuse the fact that it's only part one of a series of posts I plan to gush forth. But not to worry, not all of us bibliophile eggheads are psychopaths. Trust me.

via Skywaspink.com. There are a lot of literary references in Psycho-Pass. There were points that it verged on a dystopian fiction dissertation, rather than a work of dystopian fiction. It was almost bogged down by this; but actually, I think it's rather fascinating to consider that, realistically speaking, should a dystopian society emerge on the earth there would of course be people who would view it through such a scholarly and well-referenced lens. But anyway. I digress. The point is, there was a wealth of references to choose from but I restricted myself to choosing just one—and this is why. My gut reaction to the ending of Psycho-Pass (I've only seen the first season, going to watch the second one and the movie ASAP) was disappointment. All of the characters ended up exactly where they were fighting (and we were rooting for them) to not end up. But after sleeping on it, and watching the trailer for season two a few times, I have come to actually appreciate the ending. And as I re-watch and put more and more thought into it, there are a few things that I even found exciting about it. One of these excitements was when I discovered this shot at the very, very end, after the credits (don't ask me why I didn't think to watch for a post-credit epilogue the first time I saw the ending) showing that Kougami has been reading Swann's Way, volume one of Proust's In Search of Lost Time. Ok. So first of all, Proust. Just the name Proust is evocative. His name alone is a reference to the idea of memories stirred up involuntarily, subconsciously, aroused by tactile, aural, or other sensory triggers. Kougami is reading Proust, eh? Kougami does not forget. He will not forget. Second of all, Swann's Way. (I'm not even going to attempt to delve too deeply into Proust. But I wanted to point out a couple of other things that I fangirled over with regards to the reference in Psycho-Pass. You heard me right. I fangirl over hardcore literature. What of it?) Why Swann's Way? It seems like, if we're talking the title alone, the most appropriate volume would be volume six, The Fugitive. Maybe Swann's Way is just more recognizable; maybe it's simply because it's the first volume, so Kougami has obviously only just started reading the major novel. But I love the fact that he's placed the book on the table spine-up and open-faced down, a barely-smoked cigarette in the ash tray. He's in the midst of this book. He's taking a short break from it. In this first volume of Proust's In Search of Lost Time, the narrator talks a lot about reading books. Books, books, books. We've seen this similarity to Makishima before, right? Makishima's dialogue is saturated with literary references; he reads real books, not e-books (amen to that); he's often carrying a book around with him. But Kougami appears well-read as well. At one point, he is reading Joseph Conrad's Heart of Darkness—and not an e-book of it, but a real one. (Oh honey, you're psycho-pass is gonna be in hot water reading that novel.) So when I see that Kougami is reading Swann's Way, it stirs up a lot of feeling (and...Proustian memory...) about the act of reading a book. When I want to find some shred of hope for the future of the Psycho-Pass universe (because Akane, I love you, I respect you, but I don't have that kind of faith in you), I'll find it in the knowledge and wisdom of books, thank-you. But get this. I mentioned that Kougami is in the midst of this book in this shot, right? Well, there's this fantastically relevant and compelling bit in the midst of Swann's Way. It's so good in the context of Psycho-Pass, it skyrocketed my impression of the ending of the series from an 8 to a 10. (I told you, literature fangirl.) The narrator is describing a boyish impression of Giotto's allegorical figures, namely Charity, Envy and Justice.

The narrator remarks on the clinical expression of these virtues and vice, and ends with a certain aside, describing interactions with people who are "literally saintly examples of practical charity," such as nuns in a convent. In their faces, "one can discern no commiseration, no tenderness at the sight of suffering humanity, and no fear of hurting it, the face devoid of gentleness or sympathy, the sublime face of true goodness." The face devoid of gentleness or sympathy, the sublime face of true goodness. This is so relevant to SYBIL, the clinical face of perfect justice. Kougami has broken all ties with this version of justice. And yet, his own justice is still one without mercy. My heart dropped through the floor when he pulled that trigger. So to see him in the midst of reading Swann's Way by Proust, great wells of hope in the direction of his character and the restoration of his society's humanity were brought on in a single moment. (I'm sorry! This overly dramatic literature fangirl apologizes!)

Yeah....so be warned that there will at some point be gushy posts just like this about certain literary references in Death Note, No. 6, Natsuyuki Rendezvous, Zankyou no Terror, and possibly others, and maybe even more on other references in Psycho-Pass...... Sumimasen!

I been trying to clear my hard drive to make room for more anime and get rid of old ones. So hard to get rid of them.....I feel like a hoarding anime rat. xD I've cleared a lot of GB but then fill it back up with Blu-Ray versions. xD There's a lot I downloaded that's on my planning to watch but I've been getting stuck watching them. The last couple of days I've been watching High School DxD. And then today I watched a bit of Samurai Girls, which I was pretty sure I wanted to deleted and then I changed my mind after getting hooked into watching it again. xD Atm I've deleted my incomplete and haphazard Girls und Panzer only to download a more comlpete blue ray version...cept now I'm watching episode 1. xD I don't think I've watched the BD before so it feels like there are slight nuances in the aired and blue ray version. It amazes me how ridiculous the premise of an all girl school driving and fighting tanks are but...the girls drive the show so much........it's so enjoyable to watch... =D The music, the girls, the personalities ahhhhhhh cuteness ...but with tank fighting! Yessssss. xD

So, I recently finished Diabolik Lovers. I first want to ask myself "Why on earth am I watching this!"- Answer to my own question, I have no social life. As I was wallowing in my own despair which I caused upon myself and even expected it! I read the episode comments. They were all along the lines of: "WTF! WTF is happening! Laito is so hawt!" My first thought was ' You spelled hot wrong ' Second thought ' Why do you even like Laito he is literally a psychopath with major issues." Third thought 'I feel your pain!' The whole time through out watching the series I had know clue what was happening. The anime is filled with so many plot holes it could be considered a never ending abyss of confusion. I internally cried for those people who thought Laito was hot and the fact that they are still watching this show..... like me. In the end I ended up face palming myself with stupidity and mental exhaustion.

Hey everyone, ( who actually ends up reading this one. ) I just completed my MAL profile for now and as time goes by it will probably advance. For the time being I am just glad I got the work done cause getting even all the pictures done can be quite a pain for a newbie like me. Not to mention all those anime_entries I had to refill in order to get a list done I can work with. Well, I am not the first and far from being the last either. And as I write random what comes to mind, I still have no idea how to make any good use out of this spot, but hopefully that will not stay my worry for long. Hm, I guess I could mention that I will update every anime with a rating above 8 (within my list ofc) with a little comment to better describe it, but hopefully without spoilering anyone. Cause as Katsuragi, Keima once said : "Spoilers are a serious crime !" (I hope I don't mistake him here with someone different, it's been ages since I heard that quote.^^) Feel free to check by or consult me if you happen to know some pretty neat anime ! :D Or just for talk. I'm not picky (yet). >:d
