The Rising of the Shield Hero [Ep 14 Preliminary review]
Spoilers for episode 14.
[First of all]
Before I get into reviewing this show, let it be known that I really did love this show at the beginning. The inciting incident was believable. The crown has a distinct hatred for the shield in general, thought I don't know why then it would take her accusing him of (that) to have him ousted. Once the incident occurs, it makes sense for the other heroes (and everyone else) to believe her. To the other heroes Naofumi was seen as odd and lower-class, as he was the only one who didn't have a general awareness of the world that he was thrust into. While it IS extreme that anybody would do (that) on their first night in a new world, the society is matriarchal and such an accusation is heavy stuff when evidence can be faked. I love the beginning of this story because it allows Naofumi to grow bitter and grow stronger, eventually allowing him to surpass the people who wronged him. Now let's get into the rest of the review, because I'm running out of ways to praise this show.
[Storytelling is hard]
Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari is yet another isekai anime where the protagonist gets dealt a particularly bad hand.
This show starts off very well, but then, after they're done rushing through the world building, they seem to run out of story to tell. I like the story in this anime, but the story telling is garbage. Everybody has heard the rule "show don't tell". This show technically does follow this rule. They do show us that Naofumi is an angry boye instead of having a narrator pop in and say "Naofumi did not like that he was falsely accused of (that)". Unfortunately, the writers of this show don't trust the audience to understand anything past basic reaction-shot story telling.
[Episode 14]
In this episode, the writers break the "show don't tell" rule and have Raphtalia deliver her past in plain japanese-to-english subtitles. This rule breaking gets more egregious later in the episode. This is where i'll start my counter of how many times the writers lazily shove Raphtalia's troubled past down the viewers' throats. Yes, I'm aware that this part of the story is very much Raphtalia-centric, but I like a bit of nuance in my anime's writing, thank you very much.
I. Roughly 5 minutes in, Raphtalia exposits.
II. Roughly 12 minutes in, Raphtalia is seen crying in her sleep- obviously having a nightmare as she did in previous episodes. Unfortunately, since the writers didn't trust the audience to draw conclusions, they add a flashback so we're even more sure that Raphtalia doesn't like this place.
III. Literally 1 scene transition after II, they add ANOTHER flashback paired with Raphtalia harshly waking up from her nightmare. Since this is another scene, this is another instance of them breaking the rule.
IV. Roughly 16 minutes in, Raphtalia has YET ANOTHER flashback followed by exposition.
V. Roughly 22 minutes in, Raphtalia directly says that many demi-humans have begged for their lives to the antagonist.
Now, these are just the times that I found the storytelling to be lazy. There were many more instances of exposition, but sometimes it was subtle, like Raphtalia's tail stiffening to show distress.
Why do I even bother watching an anime if I'm basically just reading a book?
[Rest of review]
Anyways, the other aspects of the show is average or below, so I'll make this quick.
Art is average, plain, sort of dull at times, though given the tone of this anime, that's okay. When Naofumi goes beast mode, the shit on his face looks dumb as hell. Animation is lazy.
Sound is fine, idc.
Characters are below average. Many characters are .5 dimensional and are basically living embodiment of words like "antagonist" and "dickhead". Strangely enough, even without personalities these robots manage to break character.
I enjoyed this show a lot more when the writers weren't doing a shitty job.
Overall, 6/10. Hope this show improves by the end.

Jojo gave me a brand new point of view in a story..
i read and watch a lot of genre, but i'm pretty much a typical shonen jump fans, an adventure fantasy with friendship-effort-victory seeker on a story. and because of that, lately i found lots of series are boring, typical, mediocore character. some of them that really good at making fore-shadow plot are the best one and later the one that could write an interesting plot, setting, and worldbuilding are the hits one.
and then.. i found jojo..
jojo no kimyou na bouken or jojo bizarre adventure, it's pretty popular, has good review & rating, cath my interest. to be honest i'm not a fan of typical 80's MC that are super muscly and manly. i try to hot few episode of jojo part 1..
"imposible for me.." i thought.
after few month of thought 'i can't bear jojo', i found some interesting clip of the later part.
.
.
.
hm? somehow interesting.
i'm the type who likes to follow things in chronological way, bcs lost of ppl said the best jojo is the earlier one. i don't like skipping step on climbing a ladder..
.
.
and later, in the middle of a really boring day, i, curiously started to peek some of jojo's comic, and skim-read it, it was the recent part, the part 8 jojolion.
i don't understand anything but it's just freaking interesting.
.
then i skim-read the other part. damn. i need to read from the start.
but it's kinda pain in the ass, i tried to hit the anime one more time.
at first, yeah, i can't handle those disgusting fantastic bodies. the cringy-ness of the plot, because the most thing i hate the most is damn vampire. but i bear all of those.. in mind it's possibly worth it
and yeah
...
it is really worth it.
it's weird, it's bizarre. part 1 + 2 are pretty much an easy-to-guess-what-will-happen story
BUT in each arc and plot are rich with element of surprise that would really make me
"WTH.. WHY.. DAMN! AWESOME."
the part 1 & 2 are some kind a fun introduction, things getting boring in some eps, but it ended up well.
part 3, amazing. the character started to get more interesting, and so the plot.
they did some kind of world tour and what's best is the include the culture and elements of each coutry they visit.
jojo's plot story are mostly straight to the point, simple goals & plot twist, and that's where they could emphasize other elements while the story goes.
you could laught at a very pointless thing, and then it will make you cry like an idiot.
somehow it looks like a normal sad scene looks really super sad. i know someone would've died but i still cried like i shouldn't.
i'm currently at part 4, where the plot became so contrast. but still awesome. i love how the animation evolving and adjust with each timeline, era, and style. the color scheme, character design, tho their fashion sense still all abnormal. and so far what's awesome about part 4 is how the story is pretty much based on daily basis, how the town's folk usually did and such yet still have thi 'JOJO' elements and make it all seems bizarre.
i can't wait to see the other parts.
so jojos series really opened up my mind,
you can still create a simple plot looks interesting and amazing..
you shouldn't judge things without looking through..
bizarreness is awesome.
jojo is my oasis of the dull-ness on thesedays plot stories..
now i know why it really is popular.. because it is deserve it..

Pencere yapısı takviye topSafe'in patentli sistemi, çatı pencerelerinin, devreye girme girişimlerine karşı direncini önemli ölçüde geliştirir ve yanlışlıkla üzerine basılırsa ayak basıncının altındaki kanat açıklığına karşı korur.

Why You Should Watch Anime on a First Date
Let’s be realistic, a lot of people are passionate about anime, but it has gotten a bad rap in recent years. You see people who are confusing what they see on media sites with the reality that anime is about telling complex stories with amazing art. If you’re meeting someone new for the first time, there is no better way to share your passion for anime than by sitting down and watching some together. Here are all the reasons why watching a few episodes of your favorite show is a great first date.
This Could Connect You with Mutual Interests
The first reason that you will want to watch some anime together with your date is that it can open you both up to mutual interest. You might find out that your date likes anime, or she might have never known that you like anime. It’s especially interesting if the two of you turn out to like the same genre of shows or have watched the same series over time. Either way, finding common ground is very important early in a relationship and watching shows is a great way to do it.
[b]Open Your Date to New Experiences
Conversely, your date might have never watched anime a single time in their life. That means you get to be their first exposure to a world of art and emotion that they have missed out on this whole time. Of course, that comes with a little bit of pressure because you have to pick out the right show for them, but imagine starting off a lifelong love of anime with someone that you just started dating. Talk about getting off on the right foot. Usually, you’ll want to ease them in with mainstays like Cowboy Bebop or something, though.
Your Date Will Learn About Your Ideals
The media that you consume tells you a lot about a person. Just like you can judge a person’s political beliefs from where they get the majority of their news, you can tell a lot about a person by the anime that you watch. When you’re watching a show with your date, she could discover that you place a lot of stock into romance, personal honor, or strength. These are things that are otherwise difficult for you to express, but it could be a great way for you to show your date what you are all about without getting too personal.
You Can Show Anime as Being a Non-Negotiable
The final reason that you will want to put on an anime for the first date is to show your date what you like. And that you are not going to compromise for anything. If you love anime, you shouldn’t have to give it up due to social stigma or misunderstandings. This is a way for you to take a stand early and show off the things that you love the most so you never have to lose them.
As you can see, there are a lot of different reasons that you will want to watch some anime for your first date. It’s a fantastic way to see if your date has the same interests as you while opening them up to new experiences if they are not. It’s also a way to teach a date about your ideas and let them know that anime is very important to you. Overall, anime is about connecting people, and if you are still looking for someone to connect with, then check out Tendermeets.com and see what kind of people are searching for someone like you.

OBJECTIVE MUSHISHI REVIEW
Lots of MAL users PRAISE Mushishi and say it's "the best anime ever", "beautiful", "emotional". Well, today, I will completely dispel those myths, 'cause I'm gonna review one of the worst series ever made, in every single aspect.
STORY: 1/10
The plot is absolutely RIDICOLOUS, repetitive and boring as hell. Mushishi talks about Ginko, a creepy guy who's done drugs so he can see "Mushi", spirits other humans cannot see. Saying that he's done drugs is not accurate, but it's the only believable explanation because they never tell us HOW Ginko sees those spirits. How's that possible? A praised series without explanation? Yeah, it happened. People complain about new anime series without explanation WHILE praising horrific non-sensical anime. This is Mushishi. There isn't much to say about the story, because that's basically it.
A main Mushishi episode acts like this:
- [DUDE A] under Mushi effect is sad
- Ginko appears from nowhere and says "Lol I heard about [DUDE A]"
- Ginko uses his MAGIC POWER and [DUDE A] can live a normal life.
We never get a single explanation. Where did Ginko hear about [DUDE A]? Is he a stalker? How does he know where [DUDE A] lives? Why does Ginko have MAGIC POWER? None of this is properly explained. It makes no sense. All we've got during the whole series is a stupid introduction:
"Mushi live in our world because yes".
ART: 7/10
I'm afraid to admit that the art is actually good, not the best ever but it's acceptable for a 2005 show. That's the only good aspect, I'd say.
SOUND: 1/10
"What's your problem, animegod666? Mushishi's soundtrack is A W E S O M E". - silly Mushishi fanboy
Okay, tell me. How can you like that OP! It's horrible! It's hella boring! I don't want to listen to a stupid song like that!
"I walk ten thousand miles, then thousand miles to see you" - 10.000 miles are 16.093,44 km. You have to actually be mad and stupid to walk 16.093,44 km just to see "YOU". Who is "YOU"? "I" must be dead, 'cause in "The Sore Feet Song" Ally Kerr tells us this mad man walked 16.093,44 km, climbed up every hills, wondered ancient lands, walked through sandstorms and hazy dawns, stole ten thousand pounds, robbed convenient stores, lived off rats and toads, fought off giants bears and KILLED THEM. So "I" has Mary Sue legs, he's a killer and dirty too!
"I'm tired and I'm weak, but I'm strong for you"
"La la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la"
These are hints. The truth is... "YOU" is drugs. Ginko (the protagonist) is weak, so he has to be strong to do drugs. He walks 16.093,44 km because he's an addict! He must do drugs to see Mushi. While he's done drugs, he kills animals, he steals stuff and he sleeps in every place as possible. He also sings "La la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la".
What a horrific song with a bad message.
We have 26 ending themes. They are instrumental themes. We can't even learn ONE ENDING because the next episode we have another one. These ED themes are bland, repetitive and boring just like the anime.
CHARACTER: 1/10
We have no characters, except Ginko.
Ginko is a terrible character, a terrible person and a terrible human.
Ginko is a pedophile. Why? Because in most of the episodes, he deals with kids and teenagers' problems. He enters in unknown people's houses without asking. Citizens are terrified and ask "Who the hell are you? Why are you in my house?" - Then Ginko says "I'm a Mushi-shi so I can enter in your house whenever I want" - "AAAH, OK".
He also smokes a lot, so WASH YOUR MOUTH!
And yeah, that's it 'cause other characters are 1-episode based so we can't have a proper description of them.
OVERALL: 1/10
Mushishi is a bland, overhyped, overrated, unoriginal, boring, poorly directed show, and I don't reccomend it to anyone. If you want to LOOK intelligent, watch this garbage. But this will not help you, because Mushishi is actually valueless. Bad.

Comments: Lettuce hasn't improved all that much, but in fairness I probably over-estimated her chest size before. Fortunately now I have a better sense of scale and better tastes too, so she does pretty well. Becoming a mermaid isn't exactly great, and it's a shame her libido couldn't improve too much either. Still, Lettuce is a great meganekko and one of my first, so she's still special to me. Would be nice if she wore her glasses as a magical girl, but still xD.

Comments: Nanoha is very similar to Fate, in that the two were over appreciated for becoming busty. I again apologize for this mistake, but like Fate Nanoha does pretty well still. Her ass is good too, but it doesn't have the visibility nor thong that her “better half” does. It would be great for the pairing to become official as even their VAs agree. Also they need to keep this franchise alive, and not through ViViD either as that's already a trainwreck, but Nanoha deserves far more love than the show gets.

Comments: Suguha is affected both ways when it comes to the re-review. It is a shame that my previous blog on her mainly talked about her chest and had useless service as I was terrible then, but now her mamocentrism can be seen for how bad it is. She's the bustiest character in the series, getting a lot of chest moments despite being young. Fortunately the sequels are a little later so Suguha is older, and we can't forget her shower moment showing her ass off fairly in the first season. Her hair is a nice color though could be longer too. Overall she's quite good but with mamocentric issues and I still like her.

Comments: Tsukushi takes quite the dip, as I can see her mamocentric scenes for what they truly were. A shame that they wasted a great Yukarin TDB on such a poor series, especially one with so many mamocentric moments all thanks to this older sister. Her libido is a bit of a problem too; while I don't mind her being so dominant she'd pin the lead down and order him to count the ceiling tiles while she had her way with him Tsukushi's obsession with her younger sister is quite creepy. Also boo MAL having her bathing image as the main picture as while she looks cute with her hair down it's a poor mamocentric image.

Comments: About the only bad thing about Tsurugi is her love of NTR, and even that seems to be more for video games than real live (even if she jokes around about it). I can more readily appreciate her red hair and eyes, though her hair could be down more but even with her eyelashes her eyes look beautiful with great corners. Shame that this show doesn't get the attention it deserves, and Tsurugi is still an amazing older sister and lolihag goddess!

Comments: Speaking of lolihag older sisters, Kazuki is another great one. I can better appreciate her wonderful lolihag body, even if her score didn't change all that much. Really the only thing is being able to appreciate her slender chest better (though it is unfortunate that the anime made her so bouncy). Still, she is an amazing incestuous older sister while being smart and awesome in other aspects as well.

Comments: Speaking of genius girls, this beautiful fairy of the library could use a second look. She's as beautiful as she was back in the day, but now I can more thoroughly appreciate her loli body. Comments: Homura is an amazing character. The third movie really helped out with her libido as well as giving her a very dominant variant in “Akuma Homura” or that's what fans call it. I can also appreciate her slender body with nice legs, as well as her lovely eyes (though she does need to wear her glasses more).

Comments: Mio definitely deserves a second look, with a better libido and body score that she deserves. It is kinda a shame that blondes with green eyes are so common, but Mio is one of the best. Her dominant side is much better, with most of the failing being on Taru's side for being an extreme masochist. The only issue really is that this story will never be resolved, which is a shame as it was beginning to seem like she was going to win.

Comments: We round out the Kugimiya girls with Louise. While I'm not too fond of pink hair still, I can appreciate her fluffy long hair for the length. It would be nice if she had more sexy moments, especially of her ass, and boo her being so envious of other girls for mamocentric reasons. Obviously she should envy Henrietta and Kirche for their fat queenly and brown asses respectively, but still. She needs to be appreciated more, and even though she might deserve better this score is still better than her previous one.
