ANIME RATING DISTRIBUTION
WHAT SORT OF ANIME I MAY LIKE
( My anime picks are listed here )
+ I like a variety of art types, but simple is often the best. I'm glad no two animes are the same in terms of art.
+ I like complexity and deeper meanings, meditative shows and strong plots but I also enjoy light, generic shoujo romance with happy endings and expected cliches.
+ I like to find hidden gems and stories with a lot of heart
+ I do like definite, complete endings, not cliffhangers, not teasers for some next seasons. DEFINITE.
+ I like variety all in all so comprehensive stories with everything in them work well for me
+ I am however quite picky so if I like one anime in a genre, it doesn't mean I will like a similar one.
+ On the contrary, I may find the second one in the genre derivative of the first one and so rubbish.
+ There are too many bad school anime with innuendos out there- it annoys me
WHAT CHARACTERS WILL APPEAL TO ME
+ I like developed characters with well-drawn background, good progression and interesting story.
+ I like it if I get to bond with and care for characters over time
+ I really don't like when my favourite characters die, but I can accept it as long as death is meaningful.
+ I like rookies, underdogs, dark horses, gentlemen of few words, serious, honorable, dedicated, loyal friends, determined, wise, mature, loving, protective, kind, generous; or otherwise characters that are complex, difficult, mysterious, sympathethic (like Johann Liebert)
VARIOUS
+ I hate watching anime with English dub. I much prefer to hear the beauty of the original lg.
+ I'm sceptical about remakes and live actions in general. The original tends to be superior to the copy. E.x Death note live actions are a joke.
+ But I do like creative re-imagining of stories, like Tin Man based on Wizard of Oz.
+ I dislike false pretences of "elitism" and snobbery.
