Here's a fan fiction I'm in the process of writing for the Vocaloid song, Heat-Haze Days. It's not finished, but enjoy it up until it ends. Some of it is original thinking not from the song, but I tried to stick to the song as much as possible. Please enjoy!
Heat-Haze Days
"Was it always this hot outside?" I shielded my eyes from the bright, unforgiving sun, it's rays beating down on me. Sweat trickled down my neck in an attempt to cool me down. "It's so hot. I guess the news was right for a change." Today, August 15, is supossed to be one of, if not the hottest day Japan has ever experienced. No one seems to really know the exact cause of it. Some scientists think that the earth is gradually getting closer to the Sun and that we'll eventually burn to ash. Because of their theory, people are staying in their homes most of the time and stocking up on the world's water. I chucked. "Perhaps we'll all just die of thirst if the world doesn't end up burning." I turned our neighborhood corner and continued down the street. Rainfall is getting smaller and smaller in quantaty and in occurance lately, too. I stopped at the next corner and looked around. Some people in this town are pretty brave, though. A couple people walked about in the market area, probably stocking up on supplies. As usual, there weren't any cars or trucks around. One good thing about this is that not too many vechicles are around, so pollution is becoming less of a problem these days. Especially because of that theory of Global Warming. I glanced at my watch. "Oh, man. Already 12:24? I'm going to be so late!" I picked up the pace.
I walked past a few vendors on the side of the street. "Water, water! You know you need it!""Want some water?""It'll keep you sane and hydrated in this cruel weather!" Because of the heat, water is essential. Hydration is important, and some even say that in the midst of this heat, you may see hallusinations without water. I wiped my forehead with the sleeve of my shirt. Soaked. I started to walk towards the vendors, but then glanced at my watch. 12:27. "I should hurry." I ran.
Standing at the enterance, I tried to catch my breath. Probably not the best idea to run on the hottest day ever, huh? I stumbled over to the water fountain. One look at the sign over top of it and I slumped in despair. 500 yen for 10 seconds at the water fountain? People are getting ridiculous. Well, I guess it's to be expected when the world may be ending. Still out of breath, not fully recovered, I slowly walked on the path and gazed around. Trees lost their leaves and became bare. The once green and soft grass became an ugly, dead brown color. Silence. A park with not signs of life. Perhaps we will be the ruin of ourselves. From the path, I came to a clearing amongst the sad trees. The swing set was there, just as I remember it was, but now including a pale, fragil girl with short, black hair and in her lap was a small, black cat. She was the beautiful, tranquil flower amongst the dead and decayed. As I approached, she looked my way with a bright smile. "Shinji! You made it!" She gracefully leaped off the swing, her white dress trailing behind her, with the cat in her arms. "Isn't he cute?" she asked, running up to meet my tired self. "Y-yeah," I managed. "He's adorable." She gave me her usual curious stare. "Shinji? Is something wrong?" Yeah. I'm soaked with sweat, it's really hot and the world is going to end. "No. Just tired, is all." The girl giggled. "But you slept in until noon, silly! How could you be tired?" Oh, man. She just doesn't get it. She spinned in a circle, her dress appearing as petals of a white flower. "well, whatever. Let's swing!" Grabbing my hand and pulling me along, we raced across the dry grass to the run down swingset. We ploped down on the faded wooden seats, hoping they wouldn't collapse under our weight. Miraculously, the chains held, so we slowly swung, the chains creaking everytime we went back and forth. I gazed up to the sky. "Hey Ayano." I said after some time. "Yes?""Do-" I hesistated. "Do you think the world is really going to end?" I slowly looked back at her. Ayano gave me a gentle smile. "Well, whatever happens, happens. Right?"
Sigh. Well, that's all for now. Yeah, yeah, I'll get to the real plot eventually, DON'T RUSH ME. I know it's pretty bad, but don't make fun of it. XD I'm also writing a Daughter of Evil fan fiction as well, so look forward to it. XD Oh, yeah. Since I need to make an anime relation to this, I'll just say this. My friend and I are maybe going to cosplay as Kuroko no Basket characters (YAY!). She's going as Aomine and I'm probably going as Momoi because I have really long hair. XD I'm also making Miranda cosplay from DGM. Ok, that's done. XD
