I'm going to list off all the references in the third episode; both references to the games and the video game industry at large.
mk2 = second Hyperdimension Neptunia game
Victory = third Hyperdimension Neptunia game
1. The episode starts off with multiple references. In mk2, the younger sisters attend a 5pb. concert in Leanbox while they're in the city. The song that 5pb. sings is the opening song to mk2, "Kirihirake! Glazy Star!", my favourite song in the series personally. 5pb.'s voice actress is nao, the singer who has done every single opening song in the series and does the opening song of the anime. 5pb.'s name is a direct reference to 5pb. Records, the company that nao works for and the company that has done most of the music for the games.
2. The scene in Vert's house references every Hyperdimension Neptunia game. The girls are always surprised by Vert's massive otaku collection. Someone pointed out a figure in Vert's collection that seems to be Gintoki from the anime Gintama. The game shown on Vert's computer screen is Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory. Strangely, she's playing it on her PC with an Xbox 360 controller. The game series itself is only on PS3. Its name in disguise is 4 Goddesses Online, a game in the series that's referenced a couple of times. Vert usually blows off any duties she has to play games.
3. Noire's maid costume change is a reference to her hobby of cosplaying.
4. The scenes that follow reference a couple of things. The carrot Compa eats at the market resembles a Carroteer, an enemy found in the games. The game console that Neptune was looking to play games on is an Xbox 360.
5. Warechu falling in love with Compa is a reference to both mk2 and Victory. Compa heals him in both games which leads him to fall in love with her.
6. The camera that Vert is using to control the simulation and read Neptune and Noire's movments is the Kinect, a camera for the 360 that performs the same movement-recognition to play games.
7. Vert mentions the waste disposal area as being the Zune District. Zune was a media player for Microsoft products that was discontinued last year.
8. The conversation that follows the decision to go to Zune District is a reference to the conversations the sisters had with each other prior to the beginning of mk2. Although you never see the conversations in the game, the sisters mention them at certain points in the game. In mk2, as the game starts, the 4 goddesses (and Nepgear) travel to the Gamindustri Graveyard to take on CFW Magic, one of the main villains of mk2. Rom and Ram don't go for obvious reasons, and Noire felt that Uni wasn't strong enough to accompany them. While Neptune brought Nepgear along with them in the game, Nepgear was left behind in the anime.
9. While IF normally uses claws as her weapons, everyone in the first game could use guns to attack.
10. The cord tentacles is a reference to the beginning of mk2. As I mentoned above, the 4 goddesses and Nepgear lose to CFW Magic, and all 5 of them end up tied up in the same way as the anime. While in the game, a severe lack of Shares was the cause of the loss of the goddesses, the Anticrystal was the reason for their defeat in the anime. The situation at the end of the episode is similar to the beginning of mk2 except, in the anime, Nepgear hasn't been caught. The closing song is "Go--->Love & Peace", the ending credits song of mk2.
11. The ending segment, Nepstation, is a reference to the show Neptune hosts in Victory. At the start of every chapter in Victory, Nepstation hosted the world news, a quiz show, and a shopping show.
If they do anything related to the games, the younger sisters, with the help of IF and Compa, will go to rescue the goddesses from their captivity in the next episode.
