It's safe to say that OreImo 2 kept on delivering. Most of my complaints were resolved in this second season and its additions to the plot and characters' history were welcome additions. Gargantia was a very surprising hit early on. I didn't expect much from the first episode but even the first few minutes managed to create the hook which kept me exciting each week. None of the other shows this season matched Gargantia in its beauty and wonder of discovery. Aku no Hana was a very controversial adaptation from the start but I've quickly adapted to its attempt at rotoscoping. One could say its a poor excuse for the technique or that it was intentionally made so to help create the uncomfortable atmosphere. At least for me, it did not detract from the experience but rather it made Aku no Hana one of most memorable shows I've seen to date. I was glued to the screen for the majority of the series. Date A Live sounds as generic as a harem can be but my main draw to the series was the high likability of it's cast, males and females included. It was enjoyable to see Shido seduce and manage the relationships of all the Spirits with some high-octable battles in between. It could have helped to explain the origins of the Spirits but that's what season 2 is for (I hope). Haiyore! Nyaruko-san W successfully manages to capture the feeling of the original while giving more of what I wanted. What made this slightly more enjoyable was Nyaruko's switch away from the romantic spotlight to make room for supporting characters, Kuuko in particular. Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko is a special show to me and is an example of "Don't judge a book by it's cover". A pervert prince and loli characters is sure to lend itself to some embarrassing situations, right? Yes, however that was only a minor focus of the show at the start, with a more heavy and emotional plot developing further on which uses one of my favourite conventions. This show has rised above my expectations. In contrast, Hataraku Maou-sama! has one of the strongest starts of the season only to feel slightly underwhelming towards its close. It's a very charming series as we follow Maou fufilling his responsibilities at a fast food restaurant and subsequently celebrating his first pay check so he can afford home utilities. I felt like some of this was lost as more characters were introduced in the latter half but Maou's ability to remind us he is also the Demon Lord made this series still an overly enjoyable experience.
