So far, I think this anime has a lot of potential, but I don't care much for Isana Yashiro although the fandom (at least on Tumblr) is crazy about him. He reminds me too much of Near from Death Note, except Isana is higher functioning socially and physically. And no, I'm not comparing the two only because they both seem small and have white hair.
Isana possesses a lot of the personality traits Near does- or at least he appears to. He doesn't look like much of a threat physically, but he seems to be able to use tricks to escape people that in all honesty, should be able to catch/outwit him, in much the same way Near does in Death Note. Also, Isana seems to rely on other people to shield him- first, Kuroh from Yata and the rest of Homura and then Neko the cat-girl saves him from Kuroh. Sound familiar? Near used the SPK and Mello as shields in Death Note. Granted, Isana is a bit bigger than Near and much more socially able, nor does he seem to be able to plan things as well as Near right now, but all in all, the comparison is there. At least to me.
Add the fact that he's possibly evil/being controlled to be evil to the fact I can compare him to a character I have a long history of dislike for means I'm probably not gonna care too much for the brat. I don't care how "adorable" you find his blush/smile/voice/laugh, there's something off about him. I don't like him at all. Granted, there are only two episodes released out of thirteen, and my opinion might change.
I also don't like how people are complaining about the colors (which I think are beautiful) and how people are saying "nothing happens except pretty boys and cool skateboarding". Uh, have you actually paid attention to the story? In the first episode, we learn a lot. Homura, as well as a rogue under another king, are looking for an "evil colorless king" that just happens to look like a boy from a near by high school that just happened to be out on an errand.
And before that, you get a glimpse into the daily life of the Kings and their groups with a short fight scene between Mikoto of Homura and all of Scepter 4. How is that...."nothing happening"? It just seems like people are looking for stuff to complain about. The anime is wonderfully drawn and colored, offered in great quality, has superb voice acting, and an interesting plot. Stop complaining pls
By the way, I wasn't complaining about Isana, I was just saying I don't like him, which doesn't prevent my enjoyment of this anime.
