What is wrong with elitism?

There are two types of people who you don’t want to be in this world. These people sit on the two polar opposite sides of the spectrum. I hate extremes. Now here I will go into excruciating detail as to why. What are these two people you ask? Well, on one end you have the fanboy and on the other the elitist prick. Let’s me start off with the elitist. I will deal with the them later. Now let’s start off with what the term “elitism” means. Drumroll please. "Elitism is the belief or attitude that those individuals who are considered members of the elite — a select group of people with outstanding personal abilities, intellect, wealth, specialized training or experience, or other distinctive attributes — are those whose views on a matter are to be taken the most seriously or carry the most weight; whose views and/or actions are mostly likely to be constructive to society as a whole; or whose extraordinary skills, abilities or wisdom render them especially fit to govern." An elitist especially in the realm of anime usually have this ideology that there idea of what they think is good is the right one and that those who conform this idea either have bad taste or don’t know quality. Elitist will often try their best to convert newcomers of the anime/manga world in their brand of thinking. They can’t possibly fathom the people rank certain series on MAL based enjoyment and have to be solely objective. In their world, their opinion is gospel and anyone who goes against them obviously needs to reexamine themselves. What? Honesty, people should be like what they like. You shouldn’t have to be crucified for liking something. Elitist needs to be able agree to disagree. They need to know to the basis of their so could objectivity is subjectivity. Nothing is can ever be objectively good and by that I mean it all comes to one’s personal preference. Opinions are like buttholes and everyone has one. So in the end only you can judge how a supposed series is. There is nothing with have your own opinion. So you might ask yourself then what is the point in anime reviewing if a show being good or bad ultimately comes down to perspective? Well, critics exist because people sometimes need an extra opinion when they’re on the fence about a certain anime. Not everyone have the time to watch all the anime that are out there. That would be impossible. Just know that there is slight chance they may miss out on something you might actually enjoy. Most people do reviews because they enjoy doing it. There isn’t anything wrong in having these opinion leaders exist. However there is clear distinction between these people and these elitists. They think they are better than everyone else when they are not. If anything they are worse. They are too many of these people on this site. At times they can be just as annoying as the fanboys as they don’t listen to reason. And above all they annoy in that they believe that have better tastes than everyone. This way of thinking I believe should be condemned.
