A lot of people are raving about Shingeki no Kyoujin (Attack on the Titans). To me it has a lot of potential, both the animation and soundtrack are pretty solid so far, i'm hoping the story will hold out too, I'm not catching up on the manga just because I don't want to spoil it for myself.
Aku no Hana - This quite frankly makes me a little sad, its frustrating that people are calling this a masterpiece, but it just looks horrible, i caught up on the manga, which I actually did enjoy reading, few surprises thrown in here and there, and it is one hell of a lot easier on the eyes, props to the artist for it I wish they used a better design in the anime to be honest. Though the story, I still think is pretty ridiculous, but i decided to look at it in a more metaphorical sense as more of an extreme take on human nature. There's nothing really to the anime, for anyone interested in this I would say what i don't like to say that much, "just go read the manga".
Chihayafuru 2 - Simply a continuation of the first series really and as such there's not much to talk about, not a lot has really changed, but that isn't a bad thing, i really did enjoy the first season and i'm glad the pacing is still the same and it is still going strong.
Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge - I'm still a little unsure on this one, killing games tend to be fun to watch most of the time, and the idea behind this one is good, its nice to see the two main characters actually growing backbones, think the moe factor brings this don a little for me though, I can't really take it as seriously because of it, but the show still has potential to get really good.
Date a Live - I had no expectations for this show, and from the premise of it i was really expecting it to be more of a fanservice show, but i am happy that it isn't, some shows tend to get ruined by insulting levels of fanservice becoming the clear focus of the animators trying desperately to keep it in their pants. This is a show which can pretty much go anywhere from here on out, but is pretty obvious where it will go, more spirits, more friction (giggity) between Origami and Tohka. Looking forward to it.
Devil Survivor - Nothing ground breaking here, I took a quick peek at the two different versions of the manga for this and in my opinion at least, they are animating the wrong one! I don't wanna see little kids with overwhelmingly strong demons, I can go watch Digimon for that, I'd have rather seen college students fight against and the with demons that actually get killed and aren't completely overpowered.
Ginga Kikoutai Majestic Prince - This is another show that I think is underrated, but i actually think it is pretty funny, I never really have reared my head towards mecha's too often but I am happy that i am bothering with this show, they have set it up pretty clearly for character development but i would like to see a bit more from the other characters.
Haiyore! Nyaruko-san W - Just more from the first season really, the comedy is still the same, I still don't really enjoy it that much but I can see why others would.
Hataraku Maou-sama! - I really like this show so far, there's not really much to say about it really other than it is my kind of humor, everything seems really solid so far.
Hentai Ouji and the cat statue thing - I can barely read the subtitles over how moe everything is in this show, this show for me is looking like it might be last seasons Kotoura-san, good starting few episodes then just a flop from there. Now that Youto has got his facade back I can imagine that some of the comedy is going to be gone which is the only thing i liked about the show, cute girls doing cute things doesn't really cut it for me.
Hyakka Ryouran: Samurai Bride - How did this get a second season, I don't know, its pretty much more of the same from the first season, the story is pretty weak it seems like they just wanted it to get more ecchi, without it actually getting more ecchi.
+1 for maid cafes? Not really, its a pretty weak show in my opinion, I don't really tend to like ecchi shows anyway, and while I don't criticize this show because it is an ecchi (like disliking a rom-com show because there's too much romance, that's the genre you can't really criticize it for it being what it is supposed to be), I will criticize it because it actually isn't that good, they seem to be whipping a dead horse.
Kakumeiki Valvrave - I'm a little surprised this has been received better than majestic prince, that or i just hate vampires, i'm sure there will be some more clarity over the next few episodes over what is actually going on, but it should be getting better now that all three forces are in a stalemate.
Karneval - This show is, well somewhat of a blur for me, all in all up until the most recent episode, nothing big has really happened other than "I'm a rabbit? I'm looking for my friend", I'm hoping it picks up properly from here on out. I also have to note that for some reason, i had this with Hakkenden from last season too, this shoujo animation style mixed with wimpy protagonist makes me want to slit my eyes with a letter opener and stick pencils in my ears, there's nothing inherently wrong with it, I just plain don't like it and i don't really know why.
Mushibugyou - Another one of my 'zero expectations' shows, most people have been crying go read the manga, but the story for me is just kind of bad, trying to pull GAR out of thin air and not doing a good job of doing so, but oh well, still could get good.
Oreimo season 2 - This was my most looked forward too series this season, what made the first series so good for me was actually the specials at the end, and the ridiculous comedy of course. Kirino is still annoying, and I wouldn't want to have her face on the side of a train in my town (for those of you who haven't seen, somewhere in Japan at least there's an oreimo train with Kirino and Kuroneko on it). More than anything I was looking for a follow up on the Kyousuke - Kuroneko relationship, but if he actually does end up turning out to be a siscon i will probably be pretty annoyed. I'm glad that the comedy is the same as the first season at least.
Photokano - I honestly can't tell on this one, I heard from a friend of mine that it is going to be like a harem route similar to a 'The world God only knows' kind of show, but with how its going now, and from the one arc I read of the manga, I kind of hope it stays as it is, either way this show seems pretty underrated so far and I like where it is going at the moment, though I have no idea why Maeda joined that club in the first place, the other one was clearly less shady and not full of creepers.
Suisei no Gargantia - With what seems like the first mini arc over and Ledo settling in a bit, they dispersed of the pirates for now and it's heading in a direction I originally thought the show would be like. Having two of the big names in the anime industry working on this one I had some pretty high expectations and so far they've delivered. Thoughts on where this show is going next? I'm sure that there will probably be some sort of contact with the Galactic Alliance but anything could happen from there.
Railgun season 2 - I hate Shirai. . .
I like the premise for railgun but I have never really enjoyed it that much, probably because there isn't enough of Misaka being a badass which is what drew me into the show in the first place, however, hohoho, I'm hoping for a battle royale with lots of cloned level 5's but i can't see that happening. Either way I will be looking forward to seeing how this season pans out, hopefully I can enjoy it more than the first series.
Uta no prince-sama s2 - This show is pretty niche, and it isn't that exciting, with no real resolution from the first series and some incredibly sub-par J-pop, it's looking like the second season is going to end with again, probably nothing conclusive and equally as sub-par J-pop, looks nice though!
Oregairu - I actually really like this show so far, in a way it reminds me of oreimo just with a more entertaining main character(that I can actually relate to in a way) that isn't an annoying tsundere. Now it looks like most of the pieces are in place and some character development is about to take place it will be interesting to see how the group is affected from here.
Yuyushiki - This show has pretty much reached my expectations, I didn't really think there would be anything more than moe blobs doing moe things, and there's not much more to that, the comedy surprised me a bit but that isn't bad, it is more geared towards my twisted humor. Also I thought the conspiracy theory thread for this anime was incredibly clever.
Zettai Bouei Leviathan - This show strikes me as being a horrendously average adventure/comedy sort of show, and that's pretty much it really, I can't see anything serious behind it but I would rather watch this than Aku no Hana any time. (Oooh, shots fired!)
TL;DR - Favorites so far, probably Hataraku Maou-sama and Oregairu, but these are closely followed by Shingeki no Kyoujin and Suisei no Gargantia which is simply just because they will depend on how the story pans out.
