Well, this episode was MUCH darker than anything we've seen from Railgun yet - including all of season 1's serious episodes. One thing I noticed this season, especially this episode though, is the 'cinematography' they are using is much more in-line with feature films than anime episodes, and it's really helping give the show a unique feel and helping get the foreboding feeling of the arc across well.
