To watch slayers ones has to have a funny bone, and a good since of humor to boot. Slayers has become one of my favorite Anime this year, I was exited at finding an Anime that has an old style blend with originality, needles to say I blew through the first season like PAC-man. Wanting more after I had finished, looked for information if there were other Slayer seasons. To my joy there were several more for me to watch, I started the next season entitled Slayers Next, I was wanting this experience to be as good as the last. Next started out for the most part very well, but as time progressed into the later half of the season the story plot started wrapping up, and I wondered when they would go on and get to the main story plot. About this time they had been going on different missions and different rabbit trails, similar to the first season but always making references to the main goal, I found this annoying in that they had in mind the main goal, but sticking to it was not at the forefront. I found that the constant reminder and repetitiveness of this was unnecessary. Near the end around the finale 5 episodes or so they made extreme story twists, and plot holes in the process, there were a lot of things that needed explaining. But not wanting to ruin my experience of not finishing I kept watching. on the very last episode I wondered if I should even continue with this series, but somehow in the very end they turned it into an original Slayers plot and in my opinion saved the show for another season. I was pumped after watching the end of Next ready for more slayers. Though before I leave off my soapbox I will state that the inclusion of Martina was a huge disappointment there was really no point in her being there except to confuse and relive stress in an unnecessary way. She was my least favorite character and I truly do not wish to see her again. Xellos however in my opinion had potential, had they gone a little into more into his past and included him more in the group our famous Quartet might have been a Quintet, but after missing so many chances Xellos became more of a stalker than anything else. The constant " It's a secret" got very annoying after a while, and made me almost stop watching the series, but after a while the show almost became predictable and dry. I would say that the build up to the villain was a bit of a let down as well, there were a lot of things going on in the background that we were not allowed to see and what we did see didn't make much since when it was revealed. Hellmaster's title was more impressive than his debut, and whats up with the new Sairag? It was all confusing and nonsensical in motion, but bringing back Zangolus was a good move though I wish he would have had more time between he and Goury. But all ended well and the start of Try has put me in high hopes for more Slayers.
