Speaking of Raves

On another separate "but-this-time-actually-kind-of-related" note, I happened to pick up Umechazuke (Golden Time) the other day, thinking that it would have to do with Law School. Y'know, just like its description said? Well, you can imagine my anger and distress when, after having read through half of the published chapters, the only references I noticed to have anything to even remotely do with law were name-dropped courses here and there. And not even the good ones. It seems, then, that the "otaku" law student's fate is to forever be taunted and reminded of the world in which they used to belong, by that very selfsame world... How tragic. And for those who want to argue that a "legal drama" genre of manga would be out of the question for cause of blandness or boringness, may I present to you Monster and its exquisitely woven story. Sure, it had more to do with a totally bad ass-doctor's quest for redemption in chasing after a murdering psychopath he set loose in the first place, but what good case have you ever read that didn't comprise of a nice little murder and a dash of crazy in the first place? Well, either that or it's that one story about a horse and its beer. Oh well. Now if anyone out there knows of such a title that could indeed sate my particular thirst, please do speak out. I implore you. I'll even give you my cat as a mea—reward, yes!
