So last month or two, I picked up GTO after dawdling for so long. I was amazed by the theme and the consistent comedy. It reminded me of Golden Boy but less dirty. lol xD I enjoyed how the character would always try to solve someone's problems and get them to join his side. It was very sentimental that way. I loved the main character's personality and how he lived by his values.
On to currrently, since then, while looking for new airing anime, I came across Initial D Fifth Stage and picked up the first season, which originally aired in 1998. I recall way back when, when I first heard about initial D, that I was turned off by the distracting car CG. But if you set that aside, the story's really good.

Seeing the development of the main character is really entertaining. I've only watched a few racing type movies/shows and to find that the main character actually hate racing to me is pretty original, refreshing, and makes it quite interesting. I've been enjoying his development as a character and as a driver. Though I don't really understand everything that's going on when they explain the drifting techniques. I still enjoy the explanations anyways.
Right now I'm currently watching Initial D: Extra Stage.

That special didn't come out till 2001 but as soon as I read the episode summary and found out it was about Mako and Iketani, I had to watch it. Ever since seeing episode 16 from the first season, I've been entranced by their romance..or lack of....xD I really loved watching them together. =) I'm rooting for them! >.< Sigh.
Hmm this entry turned into being about Mako and Iketani but I don't care. x.x I want to watch more about them personally. So what about the main character and his romance? I'm not sure why but I like enjoy watching the former two first. Maybe because they both like each other so much, it's palatable, and at the same time they're both holding each other back...well.. really Iketani holding back...lol. Mako's been the aggressive one the whole time..which it makes it more attractive I guess.
