Suisei no Gargantia 1

The first episode of this show was mostly an introduction to the whole premise behind it, not giving any plot elements yet, besides the fact that humanity has become a ultra-technological space society where such luxuries as feeding oneself, having kids or just watching anime while taking a beer is reserved to citizens who earn it by being soldiers for 16 years in a war against space bugs out of Blue Gender, with our Hero Ledo being a mecha pilot. But just on last day before He goes into retirement, Ledo is lost in a planet that is out of Waterworld with primitive humans that speak an unknown language, basically the plot of the first episode basically followed the PV, so nothing new was given to use except a chance of experiencing the atmosphere and the difference characters, for example Ledo has that spontaneous illogical personality you would expect from Malcoms Reynolds, of Serenity fame, so that when His computer, the AI named Chamber, need more voice samples from the girl He just kidnapped He proceed top slap her in the butt causing her to “reference a sexual act involving your mother, as the Chamber put it. Not as bombastic as the captain of Serenity, but his stoic appearance mustn’t fool you as this show promise some good comedy moment. As for the action itself it was a bit confusing of what exactly was happening on screen during the battle with the bugs, but not enough to bother me as space battles against them might not be as common for the rest of the series. This sure promise to be a nice Sci-fi with good characters, nice comedy and good action.
