Hataraku Maou-sama! | Episode 1."Khatsu-dum. I see. The very name rings with power"
This is my surprise of the season so far. I didn't think I'd actually like it this much but it's much funnier than anticipated and well animated. (which is a bonus) That made up language at the start confused me so much my only gripe is how quickly they seemed to have learned Japanese but I guess that's nothing for a former Devil King. (and I do prefer to hear the Japanese language) The visual gags are also good.
The made up language, if sparingly used, is funny and I'm sure they are getting away with swearing or at least it sometimes sounds like English phrases. The opening is so epic you'll forget that this is a comedy briefly but you won't be disappointed that what follows instead is an odd couple situation this first episode is great and showing Maou and Shirou settling into their new Earth surroundings with humorous consequences. Our world lacks magic so they have to hold onto theirs sparingly perhaps the best place to waste your last remaining powers isn't working at a fast food restaurant.
The show also remains its intrigue as it introduces Emi who knows him from before.
