Oh snap it's the 7th week of 2013 already. Let's see what I was able to watch in week 6! Quite a bit, compared to the last few weeks. Also quite a few screenshots this time around.. good thing I made some notes too on what I actually thought about the particular parts I watched when I watched them.
Pet na Kanojo ep14-17: Aoyama turned out to be kinda cute after all, I also grew to like her voice actress (Nakatsu Mariko-san, seems to be kinda new). As for the character though, I like how she didn't get on the annoying side too much - aka interfering with the Shiina-path of the show :D It's especially awesome in Pet na Kanojo to witness Shiinas growth as a person, from only knowing her "work"/art to actually learning to be with other people. All that while not totally losing her klutzy/lulzy parts. /cue screenshot of putting her pantsu on wrong. The Rita parts in these episodes were nice, but I hoped they'd last for a bit longer.. mostly (but not exclusively) because whenever she's around, Ryuunosuke (VA Horie Yui, I wonder if she intentionally chose 2 male roles this season?) isn't very far either. All in all, good times in Pet na Kanojo.
Sasami-san ep4: Somehow this anime has become so different from how it started in episode one. Neet premises, obedient siscon brother and many lulz from how little Sasami can do herself.. to what it is now - 3 deity girls doing stuff. The WTF parts of the whole thing were kept fortunately, as is of course the awesome SHAFT style art. Anyway, after not totally enjoying ep2 and 3, I've got to admit ep4 was very nice and entertaining again. Many lulz were had during the Akihabara shopping story part. Glad I didn't drop this : p
Little Busters ep13-17: Oh Little Busters, I have so much to say about this. Most of it feels like it was mandatory to have played the game before watching the anime. Firstly, to get the characters to know and actually feel attached to them (just having them cry isn't gonna work for a drama if I barely even know them), and also to get a feel for the whole thing. The premises and settings are very good.. but then all we get is a Fuuko (Clannad) arc 2.0, with the girl in question slowly fading from peoples memories. Wat. While not all is bad in this show - Horie Yui in it after all, also Noumi is pretty cute (PACHI PACHI NANO DESU!), and Komari-chan too - this show doesn't even really compare to the other Key franchises. At least not for those like me who haven't played the game. The next arc that started in these episodes, about the Saigusa sisters is just more proof of this.. Haruka keeps crying and sobbing and what not.. but I don't even really know her that well.. so, yeah. Okay. Compare her scenes to when Ushio or Nagisa of Clannad cry somewhere.. I know which one is more emotional.
Ai-Mai-Mi ep6: Precious delusional irony :D :D Mandatory Net-ge MMO episode. But somehow the setting doesn't even matter anymore in this show. Very funny again!
Vividred Operation ep5: Eheheh. Those crotch shots never end. But anyway.. 5th introduction episode.. out of 12 episodes total? A bit of an overkill I think.. and somehow feels like there'll be a 2nd season at some point. Eheheh. But that aside this episode was really well made and nice to watch. The (formerly?) bad girl with the bow is a good addition to the team of girls with a backstory. Not a huge fan of the QB-type mastermind though. Eheheh.
Tamako Market ep5: Not bad at all, but definitely not the best out of all the Tamako episodes so far. Too much focus on getting the manatory fireworks episode out I guess.. and too little An-chan. The bird keeps being totally awesome however. Random thought: What if they had picked Norio Wakamoto as a voice actor for the bird??!?
Kotoura-san ep5: Did I not pay attention well enough or was there basically no mind-reading involved in this episode at all? Kinda stupid, seeing as this show is pretty much all about it. I didn't really mind too much this one time, because I really like the >_<-eyes style art etc., but still weird and not super cool either, since most of the lulz of the past episodes (obviously) came from the mind-reading. Better be some more of it again in future episodes. Also, unlike in Vividred, the introduction here in Kotoura-san seems over now and the random slice of lifey stories come up! Morimorimorimori~ :D
Minami-ke Tadaima ep6: Beach episode, very Minami-ke'ish. I like. That is all. Actually it's not, it would have been a perfect Minami-ke episode if HOUSAKA had been in it.. even if only for a short scene, or the ending. Still awesome episode though.
GJ-bu ep5: Good episode in general, especially compared to the few previous ones which weren't all that hot. But one thing overshadowed everything in ep5: WHY WOULD YOU NOT SHOW ME HOW MEGUMI LET HER HAIR DOWN. '!"$)()# TEASE. -2/10.
Shinsekai Yori ep15: Show somehow shifts from being purely about the human society to adding some more story and backstory to the other tribes.. ANARCHY breaking out. Some of our heros agree, others don't. Kinda awesome and interesting development, but definitely needs a few more episode to explain, and all. Hard to judge from just one episode about the gist of it. All in all, Shinsekai Yori still a very good show.
