Video Game Takeover

こんにちわみんなさん With the release of Ni no Kuni and Fire Emblem: Awakening, I've signifigantly slowed down my anime watching. I'm a gamer first and foremost. I may watch an episode from time to time and of course, I'm still going to my university's anime club every week but other than that I've put anime watching on hold. Samurai Champloo, which I was supposed to watch with my university's club, has been put on too late these past two weeks and now I've fallen behind. If this keeps up, I may end up dropping it or putting it on indefinite hold until I feel like watching it again. Speaking of Ni no Kuni and Fire Emblem, both games are amazing RPGs. Ni no Kuni is resurrecting the classic JRPG overworld elements mixed with the Tales series battle system. One of the best-looking games I've played with its colourful characters and masterfully designed worlds. Fire Emblem: Awakening however is one of the best games I've played in a long time. With the central theme of the game being relationships and love, it almost feels like I'm playing a visual novel. Each character can enter a support relationship with another character which leads to better stats during battle. Characters can also get married and have kids in the game and the game's use of time travel allows parents to fight alongside their children. It's a great idea and I always wish more games would do this. This is a definite must-have for the 3DS especially if you're fond of RPGs. Don't worry about the series' legendary difficulty here; there are multiple difficulty levels to choose from and you can alternate between 'casual' and 'classic' mode. Casual mode allows for your characters to return if they're defeated in battle. This is what contributed to the difficult nature of this series: permadeath. With it turned off, you can enjoy the story and the character development at your own pace. I'm predicting playing Fire Emblem: Awakening for a long time and I'm not done with the games yet! At the end of February, Etrian Odyssey IV comes out, Metal Gear Rising comes out in a couple of weeks, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate drops in the middle of March as well as Gears of War: Judgment. That doesn't leave a lot of room for anime watching alongside school work. The only time I may speed up my anime watching is in the middle of February when I get a week off from school. So, until next time! またあとで
