Righto, so, recently, I've been watching a lot of anime, and also recently, I have not updated this blog. I think you, the reader, can put two and two together from that. I spent half of a road trip watching the first thirteen episodes of Nichijou, and when I finished it, I felt like I'd really enjoyed it. One of my favourite things to do is laugh and be amused, and Nichijou provided me great entertainment. Definitely the funniest anime I've ever seen - it is supposed to be a comedy anime, after all, but I think it played that role particularly well. I wasn't in hysterics at any point though, but, as I describe in my comments on it, I indeed was saying "What the fuck?" to myself every second episode. After said first half of described road trip, I had a handful of anime episodes to watch and I ended up doing so. Tamako Market got me so excited and I can't believe I haven't been let down. I'm sure that somehow there is a psychological bias I have that's making me think it's much better than it actually is, but, either way, I absolutely adore it. Tamako is already my favourite character, and I don't really know why, but it's great anyway. Robotics;Notes seems to be picking up the pace just slightly, but unfortunately I can see a bit of disfiguration in the eyes as far as animation goes, which slightly bothers me. No important matter, though. Amnesia is still doing a surprisingly good job of, you know, portraying amnesia, and how it can affect a person's lifestyle. It's slowly incorporating a psychological aspect into it and, of course, a supernatural aspect, as all the viewers would know. It's very pretty too, lots of bright and dark colours for such a atmospherically hollow-feeling anime. Oreshura is something I can't quite comment on accurately, however. The art is fantastic, but I don't quite understand the depth of the plot - and so, I can't really see it getting good any time soon. Mind you, I haven't watched Episode 3 yet, which I will today along with Robotics;Notes Episode 13, but I still don't think there's much going for it except the art. Definitely, the art is extravagant and even wild I'd say, even if it retains, if I recall, a somewhat pale colour scheme. And as for Mangirl!... I don't even know. I can't really comment on a 3 - 5 minute long anime that's just about girls drawing manga. Also, was I the only one who initially thought it was about a hermaphrodite? I guess that shows my interpretation and extent of knowledge regarding Japanese culture. I also ended up watching Ghibli's The Secret World of Arrietty for the first time and I love it a lot. It's very cute and very charming. I have quite a few animes ready for me to watch, and I'll watch them soon. I'm kind of anxious that I haven't watched One Piece in some time, and soon I won't have as much time to invest into anime as I do now, so I'm considering spending the next few hours watching that. I also have to start an anime called Vividred Operation, which has intrigued me a bit, so I'll be doing that very soon as well. Hyouka will find itself in the 'Watching' list as well sometime soon. There are some other animes that have been on my mind: Dragonball, Shiki, and Natsuiro Kiseki. I might reserve them for later, though, because I have all these other series to complete and they're not exactly at the top of my priority list right now. You have now been informed of my anime activities.
